The run of show
Three days, in order
A suggestion, not a schedule. The only things that genuinely need booking are flagged in red.
Night One · Friday
Honky Tonk Highway
Everybody's in, nobody's tired yet, and the whole point of the weekend is eleven minutes up the street. Don't over-plan this one — Broadway rewards wandering.
Dinner close to home
Four minutes on foot from the hotel. Oysters and steak, no logistics, and you're pointed straight at Broadway when you're done.
Book it — Friday at 7 goes fast. The theme song, in the building
Garth and Trisha's four-floor honky tonk. This is the group photo and the reason the invitation says what it says. Get the picture, sing the song, then decide whether to stay or move.
The real one, two doors down
Cross the street for traditional country played straight in an old boot shop. This is the room Nashville musicians actually drink in, and it's where the night stops feeling like a tour.
Rhinestones or bluegrass
Nudie's has the rhinestone suits on the wall — the most on-theme room on the strip. Layla's next door is smaller and leans bluegrass. Both are open late; pick by how loud you still want it.
Day Two · Saturday
Pool, then the good dinner
The pool is the plan all day. Which means brunch has to be easy, and dinner is the one reservation worth fighting for.
Brunch under the neon
Six minutes from the door, and the "Rosé All Day" sign is the backdrop. Ali called it a great brunch spot and she's right, but the wall is why you go at this hour.
Get there early — the sign has a line by noon.Pool, all afternoon
This is the block the whole trip was built around. Nothing scheduled, nothing to walk to. If the weather turns, Pinewood Social has two outdoor dipping pools and bowling ten minutes away.
Houston Street, the whole block
One Uber, eight minutes, and six of Ali's picks are within a hundred yards of each other. Dinner at Alla Vita for the ricotta dumplings she dreams about — or Aba if you can get in, or Momotaro two doors down.
Aba is a 4.9 and books out. Call today if you want it.Whiskey, then the disco
Middleman is next door for whiskey and, per Ali, a higher caliber of gentleman. Flamingo Cocktail Club is a pink mirrored disco four buildings down. Pastis has the patio if you want one quiet drink first. Nobody gets back in a car until it's over.
Day Three · Sunday
The soft landing
Kelly flies out in the evening and the rest go Monday morning. Everything here is chosen for how little it asks of you.
DJ brunch, if you've got it in you
Ali spent her own birthday here. DJ brunch runs 10am to 3pm under a glass atrium. It is not a quiet room, which is either exactly right or exactly wrong depending on Saturday.
Or: don't leave the building
Coffee and to-go breakfast in the lobby until 11am. No decisions required. This is the honest forecast for at least half the group.
One last walk
Ten minutes on foot. Coffee, a long table, bowling lanes if anyone still has it in them, and a patio to sit on until it's time for the airport.
